Le Petit Wayang
A culinary journey through Indonesia and France
Le Petit Wayang is located in the heart of Nuremberg's historic city centre - a unique restaurant that operates as a French café during the day and an Indonesian restaurant in the evening.
During the day, homemade cakes and French coffee specialities are served. In the evening, authentic Indonesian dishes are on the menu, which changes daily. Freshly prepared curries, tempeh and tofu dishes are on offer, flavoured with regional organic vegetables and traditional spices such as galangal, turmeric and lemongrass. The Rijstafel - an Indonesian rice board with various small dishes to share - is a particular favourite.
The cosy ambience with colourful cushions, lush greenery and rustic half-timbered walls invites you to linger. In the summer months, there are tables in front of the building - ideal for enjoying the hustle and bustle of the old town while dining al fresco.
Sustainability tip: Most dishes are vegan and gluten-free. They are prepared fresh every day - with whatever is available in season. The ingredients come from regional organic farms such as Gemüsebau Höfer (Schnepfenreuth), Demeterhof Kratzer (Wetzendorf) and the Knoblauchsländer vegetable specialist Michael Bocklein.
