Bratwursthäusle

Because of the wonderful scents at the Christkindlesmarkt one can hardly avoid falling for one of the many treats. And anyone on their way from the Main Market Square to the Imperial Castle will immediately smell grilling bratwurst. Between St. Sebald and the historical City Hall is the Bratwursthäusle with its terraces. Before you climb up the steep hill to the castle, it's worth it to make a short stop to fortify yourself.

Traditional Franconian dishes are served here, especially the famous Nuremberg bratwurst. As early as 1312, these small specialties were grilled on a beechwood fire and then served in proper style with sauerkraut or potato salad on a pewter plate. For take-away, there are "Drei im Weggla" (three in a bun), which are produced according to a traditional recipe in their own butcher shop.
