In the Castle District

There are some curious things to see in this historic quarter. For example on Tiergärtnertor Square: If you know Albrecht Dürer, you know Dürer’s field hare – a tongue-in-cheek play on it is the bronze sculpture of the artist Jürgen Goertz. A perfect example of Franconian humor. The Deep Well of the Imperial Castle is really deep – during a tour you can watch a camera take the 50-meter journey to the bottom.
