Nuremberg Shines Bright!
Nuremberg is especially magical during the Christmas season! It's not just the famous Christkindlesmarkt, the Children's Christmas Market, and the Market of Partner Cities that contribute to the charm, but also the festive lights that transform the Old Town into a sparkling wonderland each year.

Over the course of several days starting in early November, countless lights are meticulously installed above streets, on lampposts, and in trees, stretching from Nuremberg's main train station to the Imperial Castle. Organized by the Nürnberg Leuchtet association, these Christmas symbols light up from mid-November until 6th January, transforming the Old Town into a sea of lights and creating a truly enchanting Advent atmosphere.

The motifs are also popular photo spots, as they instantly evoke the feeling of Christmas: especially the large snowflake on Karolinenstraße, which connects to the row of houses near Thalia Bookstore, and the big angel on the White Tower, both offering perfect photo opportunities. The many illuminated trees along the city center streets create a unique ambiance, especially around Sebalder Platz and Weißgerbergasse leading to the Weinmarkt, where they wrap the historic buildings in a warm, atmospheric glow.
Our tip: A ride with the nostalgic post coach is the perfect way to experience the Christmas lights of Nuremberg in all their glory.
