Hotel Karl August
More than just a hotel
The Karl August is not only meant to be one of many central accommodation options for tourists. The concept is to offer locals a great location as well.
Art is a big theme at the Karl August. Nuremberg artists in particular are offered a canvas for their creations at the hotel. Several paintings, sculptures and pottery decorate the hotel.
It’s not only the art in the Karl August that is by and for the people of Nuremberg – the entire hotel is based on the “neighborhood concept” and cooperation with local businesses. That ranges from flowers and plants to sofas and lamps to the tissue boxes in the rooms.
There you can also find MUGGE seating from the craftsmen at Muggenhofer Sitzmöbelas a place to relax, as well as personal care products from Retterspitz, a traditional company from the suburb of Schwaig, which has opened a shop directly across from the hotel. “In Nuremberg there are so many great brands!” raves Christoph Moedl, Revenue Manager in the Karl August.
Among the 120 rooms in the Karl August, you’ll find everything from a single to an 85 m2 large suite with a view of the Pegnitz. Highlight is the spa area including an infinity pool over the roofs of Nuremberg. The clean style is extended through the entire hotel – simple yet stylish. Muted colors and fine wooden floors are a fitting contrast to rustic elements such as the raw concrete walls.
