The strict differentiation between fine arts and crafts was already called into question more than 100 years ago by the Bauhaus and other modern Avant Garde movements. For Simone Geißler, handicraft, design and art are inseparably tied to one another.

 Frequently Simone Geißler places the specific characteristics of a given material in creative focus and designs her jewelry based on the material itself. Other works reflect traditional forms of jewelry which are transformed into a contemporary design idiom. Everyday chance discoveries and observations also provide inspiration which is transformed into jewelry. In this context, works that reveal the beauty of imperfection are created: Forms, structure and surface areas with a very individual, special aesthetic are brought into being.
