Pocket Park Nonnengasse

A little piece of green in the city

Many will remember: Until 2019, a parking lot was located at the corner of Nonnengasse and Oberer Bergauer Platz. Unremarkable, functional and free of vegetation. As part of the “Master Plan Outdoor Space”, the parking area has been converted to a small green place to relax.

The so-called “Pocket Park Nonnengasse” was opened in November 2019 and draws attention with its unusual seating and lounging furniture, which invites you to stop and relax. Flower beds and trees round out the small green oasis near the Pegnitz and the Heilig Geist Spital. Where once an unsightly parking area was located is now an multifunctional urban space with living plants and places to rest - we like!

Did you know: The public space master plan of the city of Nuremberg has set the goal of sustainably improving the green and public space situation in Nuremberg. An action plan contains a series of further projects. Since 2015, eight such projects have been completed.
